U.S. Postal Service issued the stamp on Jan. 9, 2008 to celebrate the Year of Rat of the Chinese lunar calendar, which falls on Feb. 7, 2008. The rat is the smartest animal among the 12 zodiac signs in Chinese traditional culture and is a symbol of prosperity. Chinese people all over the world celebrate the Lunar New Year on February 7, 2008.
